The USP of the Samsung Tab S7 FE is its massive 10090 mAh battery that has an impressive 25 hours of standby time. Samsung claims the device will give you around 13 hours of screen time with web browsing, video playback, etc. After a single charge, this model easily lasts for more than 11 hours which is the best tablet battery life compared to others.

However, you only get a 15W adapter and a USB Type-C cable in the box, which takes almost 4 hours to completely charge the device. To increase the charging speed, I suggest getting the charger with a higher rating since the device supports up to 45W quick charging.

The Tab S7 FE is powered by the solid mid-range Snapdragon 778G processor that we’ve continuously seen in popular smartphones. The Octa-core chipset is powerful enough to run pretty much every app which you may use daily such as social media apps, editing tools, and other productivity applications.

The 4GB RAM works like a breeze with multitasking, and the device manages to hold 5-6 apps in the background without any issue. However, the chipset has its limitations when it comes to high-end gaming, and there is an ample amount of drop in the performance and battery since the 778G is not an exceedingly power-efficient processor.

You have a large 256GB onboard storage that is more than enough. Still, there is a dedicated microSDXC card slot that supports up to 1TB. The device runs on Samsung One UI 3.1.1 on top of Android 11, and you can expect the Android 12 update within the next 2-3 quarters.

Since the launch of the Tab S7, Samsung has shifted its design philosophy, and thankfully, the company hasn’t compromised with the budget S7 FE. Yes, Samsung has missed a trick by omitting the audio jack and an OLED panel, but it is still the best battery life tablet considering the price point. In terms of battery life, Lenovo claims that the 7700mAh battery is capable of a staggering 15 hours of screen time, which would make it the longest lasting tablet on the market. When I tested the machine with various tasks such as web browsing, music, and video calling, the device managed to last for 10-11 hours which is great compared to the other tablets under the $300 price range.

The device supports 20W quick charge but still takes around 3 hours to completely charge the battery using a USB Type-C cable. Note that the battery percentage drops significantly while watching HD content or playing heavy graphics games on the device.

Display

There’s an 11-inch IPS LCD with 2K resolution (2000 x 1200) and a 5:3 aspect ratio. With a pixel density of 221PPI, the screen doesn’t appear as crisp as some other flagship models, but the 400 nits brightness makes it extremely vibrant and easy to use outdoors. The viewing angles are decent, and the colors are punchy, giving you an overall great viewing experience.

First, talk about the elephant in the room – the battery life. A8 comes with a 7040 mAh battery that, Samsung claims, will last up to 10-11 hours. Surprisingly, this model lives up to the expectations and squeezes 9-20 hours of screen time with everyday tasks. However, with HD videos, the battery performs on average and can manage only for 6-7 hours.

The A8 comes with a normal 7.5W charging brick and a USB Type-C cable which takes a whopping 3-4 hours to charge the device completely. The device supports 15W quick charging, but you will need to buy a separate charger to enjoy the fast charging.

Display

The A8 has a 10.5-inch TFT LCD screen with a 1920 x 1200 resolution which is pretty standard. However, the display is a bit reflective, making it slightly harder to use under direct outdoor lights. It’s good for professional use or for watching movies but don’t expect an extraordinary viewing experience from it.

Tab A8 is powered by an Octa-core Unisoc Tiger T618, one of the best mid-range chipsets in the market. You also get Mali G52 MP2 GPU along with 4GB of RAM. Overall, this model does a decent job with your daily tasks as well as gaming. There are no lags or heating issues even when you put the device under a heavy workload. However, the device is not meant for graphics-oriented games, and you might see occasional frame drop and lagging.

The back of the device is made of aluminum with a slight hint of polycarbonate. The build quality is extraordinary, and you don’t feel you are holding a mid-range device in your hands.
